1 Dr. Thomas Strode, Founder and Music Director

Dr. Thomas Strode is a native of Portland, Oregon and came to Ann Arbor in order to pursue graduate studies in music. He earned the Master of Music degree in 1975, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 1981, as a pupil of Dr. Marilyn Mason, in organ performance. A church musician from the age of 15, he was Organist & Choirmaster of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ann Arbor from 1977 to 2000. He is currently Director of Music at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, where he directs the Adult and Handbell Choirs. He also teaches in the church's day school, where he directs the Middle School Choir and teaches a course in Music Appreciation for 6-8 graders. As an organ recitalist, Dr. Strode has performed in several states as well as in England, France, and Spain. Dr. Strode founded The Boychoir of Ann Arbor in 1987.
   
1 Drew Smith, Assistant Director

Drew Smith is a Boychoir of Ann Arbor alumnus and currently studies vocal performance under Stephen Lusmann at the University of Michigan. He is a member of the University Chamber Choir and University of Michigan Men's Glee Club, and also performs with the Birmingham - First Chamber Choir.
